North East sandsend 2009.10.19

Easy access for all fish from your car boot! mixed bag from this mark cod, bass, flatties, whiting, coalfish. 3 main areas to fish from the carpark at the bottom of the bank (a decent chuck is needed as is a high tide), the railings on the road side in front of the houses (beware of the cars! also a high tide is needed) and the beach just as you go out of sandsend on the way to whitby (fish any state of the tide but 3 hrs before high upto 2 hrs after works well). good fishing can be had from all of these marks.
North East horden 2009.09.13 long beach mark with a few differing types of ground, big backwall/bank that the sea does get to, meaning you will need to be on it if big tides, big swells, very little lateral flow but even heavy sinkers with grips will move in heavy seas, the beach changes often from sandy to rock stewn depending on the previous few days weather/seas

north and south ends are more rocky
North East Craster Rocks 2009.09.06 A coast line of steeps sloping smooth rock which slopes straight into deep water. This is a rock mark, but the only risk of looking tackle is a line of kelp all along the coast line. So long as you can cast more that 50 yards and you bring your tackle over the top of it on the retreive, you shouldn't have any problems.
North East craster pier 2009.06.28
North East South Gare 2009.04.28 Opposite side of teesmouth to North gare , accessable from Redcar end through Warrenby , good Cod and Flattie mark, can eat gear so be prepared
North East North Gare 2009.04.28 Breakwater at southern side of Seaton Carew, Beware of tackle losses due to rough area's , the end is dire for this, there is a small nub at the beginning of the breakwater jutting out from the right hand side, cast straight out to hit the gullies where Bass seem to hang around, good chance of cod and whiting too, favoured baits are Rag, Lug and Sandeel
North East Runswick Bay 2008.08.26 A mixed area of angling opportunities. On one side of the bay there is sandy beach with slate on the bottom as you cast further out. On the other side of the bay it is slate with large rocks here and there. Plenty of kelp on both sides with excellent propsects of cod upto and above 5lb.

North East St Marys Island - Whitley Bay 2007.11.05

This well known landmark is a great all year round mark. Its a heavy ground mark with the possibilities of big bags of codling , fishing to the north of the lighthouse into Crispins Gulley , best fished three hours before low water and 3 hours on the flood when the rocky outcrops and gulleys are exposed.Tackle losses can be high so its advisable to use rotten bottom tactics,The lighthouse is accessible via a causeway and tide times are available near by but it doesnt stay submerged for long and its easy enough to see when you can get across.
North East Velva Liquids 2007.10.01

Now known as the walkway this housing estate was builton the site of the old velva liquids factory, I used to fish there when the site was closed and ready for demolishion. And it was an uncomfortable place to fish. Now? its a nicely paved promenade in an exclusive area of shields.Fishing here on neap tides thru daylight and darkness can produce mixed bags of colaies, codling , flounder and eel.
North East The Groyne 2007.09.13
