River Tay at Dundee,

You're spoilt for choice with either Riverside Drive inbetween the Tay road bridge and rail bridge, Broughty Ferry harbour and beach, and the Stannergate just past the Dundee docks. Theres coalies, mackerel, sea trout, flounders, bream, eels, whiting, scad, pollack, grayling and my m8 caught a lovely scorpion fish last week
North & East Scotland Ullapool Pier 2009.09.12 Nice big pier for mackerel. Try casting back towards the shore from the far left corner (looking down the loch) when the fishing goes quiet.
North & East Scotland Granton Breakwater 2008.10.27

Granton breakwater

Granton's long east breakwater extends into the Forth, enclosing Granton harbour. Underwater, the structure slopes off steeply then gives way to sand. The wrack and kelp surrounding the nooks and crannies of the structure are home to crabs, which in turn attract codling, so short (very short) casts are the order of the day. Fish can be taken all along the length of the breakwater, though most people tend to congregate between the two metal huts and the bend. Codling can be expected from perhaps mid-May onwards, with the possibility of mackerel shoals arriving in late summer. Peeler crab is the most desirable bait, but some fish will still be caught on rag and lug, and mussel and even limpets can take fish. Most locals use a simple paternoster rig consisting of a long lead drop and short hook snood. Others use a sliding float to good effect. A cast of 5-10 yards should be all that is required
North & East Scotland Auchmithie 2008.10.27

Auchmithie Beach north of Arbroath.

A great sea fishing mark with choice of small sandy(ish) beach rocks and a small harbour(unused). There is alot of history here, The original 'Arbroath' Smokie hails from Auchmithie, a small fishing village, 3 miles north of Arbroath. The true origin of the village of Auchmithie is obscured by time, but there is evidence to suggest it may go back to the Viking raids of the early 11th century.
North & East Scotland Badentarbet Pier 2008.08.26 Otherwise known as Achiltibuie Pier same as the village where it is situated, this offers anglers deep water close in and the chance of very large fish, as per sea angler magazine this pier produced a 154lb skate back in 1971 (ooh the good old days), sadly I think those days are over due to the over fishing and scallop dredging thats gone on. The pier is very active with most tourists going there to fish for mackeral so it can get crowded , on top of that the summer isle cruises leave here at regualr intervals and one of these small boats named the Patricia will happily take your line while your bottom fishing (speaking from experience).
North & East Scotland Badentarbet Bay 1 2008.08.26
North & East Scotland Reiff Rock 1 2008.08.26

An extremely scenic and amazing place to fish, just north of the summer isles this venue is a long way to and its advisable to book accomodation if you want to enjoy the various states of tide and sea conditions to get the best out of it.

large pollack roam these waters with equally large wrasse hiding in between the kelp and rocks. Not a bottom fishing venue unless your prepared to lose alot of tackle. We spent two weeks fishing in and around these marks and thoroughly enjoyed the fishing , mostly spinning, lures and plugs , but some fantastiuc catches on float fished lug and crab.
North & East Scotland Portknockie Harbour 2007.08.29 Portknockie's harbour is naturally sheltered by the rocky bluff of Green Castle and has trwo main fishing areas, one being the harbour walls themselves on both sides and the other a small jetty.
